OUR ART PROJECTS & Collaborations

THE LEVITATE – NEEL SHUKLA
DT1

A monumental art piece in DT1 lobby created by Dubai-based artist Neel Shukla, the Levitate is an eclectic oeuvre of collective shapes that resembles abstracted alphabets representing the world cultures.

The sculpture is suspended by very fine cables from the ceiling forming an illusion that appears to defy gravity when viewed from particular angles, while reflective lights casually bounces off its metallic surface.

MACRAME – KLEUAH
DT1

The wall hanging masterpiece at the DT1 lobby is a 2m height tapestry is made of 1,250 metres of 5 mm silky natural wool and cotton based twist cord using the Arabic macrame knotting technique and drawing inspiration from the Portuguese patterned tiles.

Meticulously crafted by Kleuah, the art piece pays tribute to Ellington Art Foundation by subtly adding the Ellington icon in the pattern creation.

PAINTINGS COLLECTION – TINI MEYER
DT1

As an artist fascinated by the concept of public art in public spaces, Tini Meyer’s contemporary painting collection is currently displayed in DT1’s lobby, adding an aesthetic and contextual value to the space.

The abstract painting collection combines beauty, flow and symbolism, and each canvas is unique, creating a mystical quality that traverses through light, texture, colors, and layers.

PALM BOUQUET – KHALID SHAFAR
BELGRAVIA

With an international outlook and passion for Emirati heritage, Khalid Shafar has designed and produced the main centerpiece in the reception lobby of Belgravia to reflect the nation’s local tree.

Standing at a 4-metre height, the sculpture depicts a flower bouquet arranged in a way that can be viewed from both ground and first levels.

V - NOUR TOUBIA DAOU
EATON PLACE

Serving as the main art piece in Eaton Place lobby, this masterpiece by Nour Daou is inspired by the Voronoi diagram in nature. The “V” replicates shapes and layers that expand and multiply in essence. This  art piece was created using mainly recycled wood from the actual Eaton Place building site, making  it a sustainable work of art.

This masterpiece represents the foundation’s last art initiative in 2019.

It became an organic expression of a controlled flight-dove. The piece is made up of tri-part units that were heat-bent into dynamic shapes and linked together to generate its visual dynamism.

In 2019, this project won the best art collaboration at Harper’s Bazaar Interiors Awards.

ESCAPE I & II — AMMAR KALO
BELGRAVIA III

Art pieces of luminous virtuosity, “Escape I & II” for the two main lobbies of Belgravia III are award-winning designer Ammar Kalo’s nod to futuristic art with inspiration from the natural world. Each art piece is a cluster of reflective aluminum concave cells with sea-shell-like texture. The cells are mounted on a wall and aggregated in a way that will reflect light in a unique way, creating an atmosphere of dynamism — a theatre of light for the lobbies.

RIPTIDE — S2 INTERIORS
BELGRAVIA III

A stellar artistic rendition that’s anchored in the timelessness of universe, “Riptide” by S2 Interiors for the two lobbies of Belgravia III rewrites the dialogue between wind and water on wood. It employs parametric design to question the solidarity of wood and in the process creates a moment of aeonic magnitude – an ocean wave in nature. The feature wooden walls in both lobbies of Belgravia III are created from vertically arranged wood pieces that together create a fluid wavelike movement, enriching the space with a seemingly sparse yet boundless grandeur.

INTO THE SHALLOWS — MADIHA
BELGRAVIA III

A visually arresting artwork for Belgravia III’s Residence Club created by Dubai-based Pakistani artist Madiha, “Into the Shallows” is an attempt to condense the expanse of the ocean and its magnificence onto the canvas. Employing acrylic and metallic embellishments, she captures the movement and mood of the sea by layering and blending many tones and hues. Her painting will grace the mood and aesthetics of the Residence Club and provide access to a wondrous moment taken from the serene and lush coastal life.

PAINTINGS COLLECTION - ALEXANDRU DANU
Wilton Terraces

Conjuring up images from a fabled past, the paintings by Romanian artist, Alexandru Danu, for Wilton Terraces mingle the magical allure of the Silk Road with his own impressions. The paintings narrate the cultural, spiritual and social exchanges that took place across wide swaths of time and space, an interplay between historic accounts and Danu’s own perspective. His work is in essence a journey that blurs the line between reality and imagination, focusing on humanity’s connection with culture. Danu’s paintings collection won the Wilton Terraces Art Competition in the painting category.

- JACKY TANG & YAZEED OBEID

The floating carpet represents the mythic elements associated with this historic road. Jacky and Yazeed’s “A Piece of Transparent History” won the Wilton Terraces Art Competition in the sculptures and installations category.
