This artwork draws inspiration from the UAE’s desert landscape, skilfully blending the imagery of dunes and the resilient Ghaf tree. Using sophisticated forms and a rich palette of colors on painted metal sheets, it captures the tenacity of Ghaf leaves in the desert, inviting the viewer to reflect on the delicate balance between fragility and strength in nature.

This artwork takes inspiration from the grace and elegance found in Ghaf leaves. It celebrates their intricate patterns and delicate veins by layering distinct forms and colors. The composition skillfully replicates the leaves’ forms and hues with painted metal sheets, transitioning from lush greens to subtle silvers. It invites viewers to reflect upon the delicate balance between nature’s fragility and inherent strength.

In this series, Zainab intends to evoke an appreciation of the often-overlooked vegetation found in the arid desert landscape surrounding Dubai. In training her lens on the native Ghaf tree and other indigenous shrubs, she brings these humble and resilient plants to the fore and hopes viewers will take time to consider their unique and hidden beauty when venturing into the desert.

DUBAI’S DESERT LIFE IN ABSTRACTION - QUENTIN DESMIT

Quentin addresses the general misconception that Dubai and the U.A.E are one giant urbanization development in this series. By representing the textures and shadows of native plants at peculiar angles and from varying degrees of distance, he hopes to encourage the viewer a deeper understanding of the subtle, yet ever-present, beauty that surrounds us.

THE ELEGANCE OF THE ARABIAN GAZELLE - NIKITA SHARMA
HARRINGTON HOUSE

The paintings by artist Nikita are currently displayed in Harrington House’s corridors. The art pieces explore the Arabian Gazelle’s fluidity and gracefulness, and the beautiful Arabian desert and landscapes, the sunrise and sunset using contrasting tones of beige, warm white, grey, and pops of black.

COLLAGE- KALTHAM BINT MOHAMMED
BELGRAVIA HEIGHTS

The collage series in Belgravia Heights’ health club by artist Kaltham bint Mohammed is inspired by Emirati popular games that are characterized by movement and activity, such as Al Karabi, and Khbz Rgag. The art pieces reflect the environment of these games and the tools used in them. Also, the character of this series is dominated by pastel colors such as shades of beige with shades of blue, green, yellow, pink, and orange.

BELGRAVIA HEIGHTS

A fascinating art piece in Belgravia Heights’ lobby created by Ranim Orouk, Petaloid takes inspiration from the “Power Flower” which is a self-reflection tool that helps individuals reflect on the ways in which they experience power, privilege, and experience hardship in society. The sculpture raises awareness about how collective identities of different persons live and coexist in harmony in one place providing us with an introduction to intersectionality with a dynamic view of personal and collective development.

THE LEVITATE – NEEL SHUKLA
DT1

A monumental art piece in DT1 lobby created by Dubai-based artist Neel Shukla, the Levitate is an eclectic oeuvre of collective shapes that resembles abstracted alphabets representing the world cultures. The sculpture is suspended by very fine cables from the ceiling forming an illusion that appears to defy gravity when viewed from particular angles, while reflective lights casually bounces off its metallic surface.

MACRAME – KLEUAH
DT1

The wall hanging masterpiece at the DT1 lobby is a 2m height tapestry is made of 1,250 metres of 5 mm silky natural wool and cotton based twist cord using the Arabic macrame knotting technique and drawing inspiration from the Portuguese patterned tiles. Meticulously crafted by Kleuah, the art piece pays tribute to Ellington Art Foundation by subtly adding the Ellington icon in the pattern creation.

PAINTINGS COLLECTION – TINI MEYER
DT1

As an artist fascinated by the concept of public art in public spaces, Tini Meyer’s contemporary painting collection is currently displayed in DT1’s lobby, adding an aesthetic and contextual value to the space. The abstract painting collection combines beauty, flow and symbolism, and each canvas is unique, creating a mystical quality that traverses through light, texture, colors, and layers.

PALM BOUQUET – KHALID SHAFAR
BELGRAVIA

With an international outlook and passion for Emirati heritage, Khalid Shafar has designed and produced the main centerpiece in the reception lobby of Belgravia to reflect the nation’s local tree. Standing at a 4-metre height, the sculpture depicts a flower bouquet arranged in a way that can be viewed from both ground and first levels. Know more about the artist.

V - NOUR TOUBIA DAOU
EATON PLACE

Serving as the main art piece in Eaton Place lobby, this masterpiece by Nour Daou is inspired by the Voronoi diagram in nature. The “V” replicates shapes and layers that expand and multiply in essence. This  art piece was created using mainly recycled wood from the actual Eaton Place building site, making  it a sustainable work of art. This masterpiece represents the foundation’s last art initiative in 2019.

HAMAMA – AMERICAN UNIVERSITY OF SHARJAH ART STUDENTS
BELGRAVIA II

WON BEST COLLABORATION IN HARPER’S BAZAAR INTERIORS AWARD

A bespoke installation in the main lobby of Belgravia II, the Hamama which means Dove in Arabic was created by AUS (American University of Sharjah) student designers Rima Chalha, Mariam Aljuwaied, San Fathima and Priyanka Soni using heat-molded acrylic. It became an organic expression of a controlled flight-dove. The piece is made up of tri-part units that were heat-bent into dynamic shapes and linked together to generate its visual dynamism. In 2019, this project won the best art collaboration at Harper’s Bazaar Interiors Awards.

KUSOOF – HALA AL SABOUNI
BELGRAVIA

Installed in the walls of Belgravia lobby, the Kusoof serves as the focal point of creative impressions in the main lobby. Produced and designed by Hala Al Sabouni, Ellington Properties Interior Designer, the Kusoof represents the lunar eclipse movement of the moon overlapping the Earth’s shadow, occurring only on a night with a full moon. The sculpture was made of rustic metal disks mounted to a double-height wall.

MIXED MEDIA WALL PAINTING – MARIUSZ KRAKOWKO
BELGRAVIA II

A mural in the Fitness Studio of Belgravia II, this mixed media wall painting describes the dynamic work of Mariusz Krakowko with an interpretation of a lady on her fitness journey and hereon creating a multitude of a design-led living, which supports the residence lifestyle offering. The mural portrays the urban quality of Dubai and the contemporary feel of Ellington Properties residences.

PAINTINGS COLLECTION – KRISHNAKUMAR AWASTHI
BELGRAVIA

A painting collection along the corridors and lobby points of Belgravia, the collection features modern and abstract art pieces with contemporary feel to match the building’s interiors and modern takes on residences. Produced by Major (Retired) Krishnakumar Awasthi, the collection reflects multiple patterns of textures and colours.

UNVEILING BEAUTY – AMERICAN UNIVERSITY OF SHARJAH
BELGRAVIA II

Installed along the corridors of Belgravia II, “Unveiling Beauty” features a series of 90 photographic works by the CAAD students of AUS in black, white and a hint of copper tones to reflect the building’s concept. The photograph collections are based on the UAE’s beauty, from its cityscape, sand dunes to the peculiar details that makes every bit of the nation’s characteristics. Each photograph portrays a role in revealing the concealed beauty of the country by use of layering through organic shapes and copper foil connections.

SUNSET SIXTY-THREE – HALA AL SABOUNI
EATON PLACE

A mural in the Fitness Studio of Eaton Place and a work of art by Ellington Properties Interior Designer, Hala Al Sabouni, the wall painting is inspired by Eaton Place’s color palette extracted from the Desert Rose Crystal. The mural showcases the popular scenery of the Qudra Lakes located in the middle of Saih Al Salam desert Southside of Dubai with two runners athletically pacing towards the soft and serene pink sunset.

EATON PLACE

The abstract paintings are showcased throughout Eaton Place’s lobby and corridors. A series of artworks created and produced by Major (Retired) Krishnakumar Awasthi, the collections are described as contemporary depicting the color scheme of the residential project.

ESCAPE I & II ⁠— AMMAR KALO
BELGRAVIA III

Art pieces of luminous virtuosity, “Escape I & II” for the two main lobbies of Belgravia III are award-winning designer Ammar Kalo’s nod to futuristic art with inspiration from the natural world. Each art piece is a cluster of reflective Aluminum concave cells with sea-shell-like texture. The cells are mounted on a wall and aggregated in a way that will reflect light in a unique way, creating an atmosphere of dynamism⁠ — a theatre of light for the lobbies.

RIPTIDE ⁠— S2 INTERIORS
BELGRAVIA III

A stellar artistic rendition that’s anchored in the timelessness of universe, “Riptide” by S2 Interiors for the two lobbies of Belgravia III rewrites the dialogue between wind and water on wood. It employs parametric design to question the solidarity of wood and in the process creates a moment of aeonic magnitude – an ocean wave in nature. The feature wooden walls in both lobbies of Belgravia III are created from vertically arranged wood pieces that together create a fluid wavelike movement, enriching the space with a seemingly sparse yet boundless grandeur.

INTO THE SHALLOWS ⁠— MADIHA
BELGRAVIA III

A visually arresting artwork for Belgravia III’s Residence Club created by Dubai-based Pakistani artist Madiha, “Into the Shallows” is an attempt to condense the expanse of the ocean and its magnificence onto the canvas. Employing acrylic and metallic embellishments, she captures the movement and mood of the sea by layering and blending many tones and hues. Her painting will grace the mood and aesthetics of the Residence Club and provide access to a wondrous moment taken from the serene and lush coastal life.

PAINTINGS COLLECTION - ALEXANDRU DANU
WILTON TERRACES

Conjuring up images from a fabled past, the paintings by Romanian artist, Alexandru Danu, for Wilton Terraces mingle the magical allure of the Silk Road with his own impressions. The paintings narrate the cultural, spiritual and social exchanges that took place across wide swaths of time and space, an interplay between historic accounts and Danu’s own perspective. His work is in essence a journey that blurs the line between reality and imagination, focusing on humanity’s connection with culture. Danu’s paintings collection won the Wilton Terraces Art Competition in the painting category.

A PIECE OF TRANSPARENT HISTORY
- JACKY TANG & YAZEED OBEID
WILTON TERRACES

Probing the historic depths of the Silk Road, international award-winning artists, Jacky Tang and Yazeed Obeid, lay bare the myth and mystery of this road with their stunning art installation – “A Piece of Transparent History”. Inspired by the geometrical patterns, carpet designs and various artistic influences from the Silk Road era, their art installation uses copper colored metal pieces suspended by transparent wire, symbolizing a simplified carpet on the ceiling. The floating carpet represents the mythic elements associated with this historic road. Jacky and Yazeed’s “A Piece of Transparent History” won the Wilton Terraces Art Competition in the sculptures and installations category.
